 NDS1200: The Instrument Designed for NanoDLSay™

The NDS1200 Hardware

The NDS1200 is a one of a kind high-throughput dynamic light scattering instrument.  It is designed to combine automatic multiple sample analysis capability with maximum flexibility. The sampling system is a carousel that holds 12 disposable mini-glass tubes as the sample containers. Each sample takes about 10-20s to measure. While the DLS measurement is taking place on one sample, new samples can be continuously loaded to the carousel by simply replacing the measured samples. With minimum labor and intervention, the system allows a user to complete the analysis of 120-180 samples in one hour or less.

The NDS1200 Software

The NanoDLSay™ software is designed to enable the user to perform a wide range of assays and analyses without complexity. The clock-style sample control panel allows the user to conveniently select the number of samples that need to be measured, and perform the analysis of multiple samples sequentially and automatically. Using the “Repeat Sequence” control button, a user can set up kinetic studies of up to 12 samples automatically, or configure the instrument for high throughput analysis with minimum labor. The software is extremely easy to learn and to use. It takes less than 10 minutes to learn all the functions of the software.

• After opening the NanoDLSay™ software, select the number and location of the samples that you want to measure by clicking the dark green buttons in the clock-style sample control panel. Upon selection, the dark green button is switched to a bright orange color.
• Then simply click the “RUN” arrow located on the top-left corner of the window to start the measurement. Data is directly saved into an easy-to-read table, and also can be saved into an Excel file at the end of the experiment.  Both average particle size and the polydispersity index of the sample solution are recorded.
• The sequence control button allows you to repeat the measurement of all samples multiple times. This unique feature allows you to conduct kinetic study of 12 samples fully automatically or to perform high throughout analysis with maximum flexibility.
